If interested in this position, please apply online.  After review of applications, we will extend invitations to qualified candidates for the first of two substitute orientation sessions.  During the first session, we will review the job requirements and expectations of a Food Service employee and review our Food Service program. 

At the second session, you will receive information on food safety and sanitation, food service procedures and Federal regulations that must be followed.  Arrangements will also be made to complete finger printing.  A $40.00 finger printing fee (check or money order made out to Boise School District) is required. 

Attendance at both orientations and clearance of a background check are required prior to being hired as a Food Service Substitute.  These orientations are held at 8169 W. Victory Road, Boise, Idaho.
Note:  These positions are available on an as-needed, on call basis.
The Substitute List will be reviewed for work activity and availability at the end of each semester.

DAYS:  
SALARY:  Less than 4 hours - $25
4-6 hours - $50
START DATE:  2012-2013 School Year
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:  
  • Graduation from High School or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience with institutional foodservice preferred.
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations for recipes, production sheets, and cashiering.
  • Willingness to learn and follow Federal, State, Local, District and Foodservice policies and regulations.
  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently.
  • Ability to be self-directed.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team.
  • Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with school personnel, students and the public.
  • Ability to stand on your feet for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to regularly lift up to 35 pounds.
