START DATE:  Immediately
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • One year grounds keeping experience is preferred;
  • Knowledge of methods, material, tools and standard practices of cleaning and maintaining public buildings and grounds and yard maintenance;
  • Knowledge of cleaning and disinfecting materials, tools and equipment used in custodial work;
  • Knowledge of tools and their use for minor maintenance work;
  • Ability to prepare and maintain gardens, trees and shrubs, surface areas and other planting areas;
  • Ability to mow, trim, weed and apply herbicides, pesticides and fertilizers;
  • Ability to follow and give oral and written instructions;
  • Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with district personnel, students and the public;
  • Occasionally related job tasks may require, with or without reasonable accommodation, lifting up to 50 lbs, stoop, kneel, bend crouch, push grasp and reach;
  • During student vacation periods, may be assigned to a district crew.

Performs maintenance and service work on school grounds, equipment and machinery, and irrigation systems; custodial and cleaning work as needed; performs related work as required.
